Qatar Airways Flies Into Los Angeles

Qatar Airways Flies Into Los Angeles

How can you not associate (Rudyard) Kipling’s famous line, “East is East and West is West, and never the twain shall meet with Qatar Airways? The East/West twain, or two, have met for awhile now, and its most recent blend is Qatar’s newest route from Doha, Qatar to Los Angeles, California.

This new air bridge began January 1st of this year; later, Qatar will also bring non-stop flights from Doha to Boston in March, and to Atlanta in July.

The GCEO of Qatar Airways, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, recently commented about the LA route, saying, “Los Angeles and Doha have much in common, as both are passionate homes for sport, fashion, art and world-class entertainment. This new Qatar Airways service forms a bridge spanning continents and cultures, which will further strengthen our cultural and commercial bonds.”

The Los Angeles launch comes as Qatar Airways continues to expand operations in the United States and around the world. In addition to new launches, the airline is enhancing existing services along its other successful US routes.

Last month Qatar Airways brought the state-of-the-art Airbus A350, considered to be the airliner of the next decade, to American shores for the first time. On January 1st, the airline began a regularly scheduled daily A350 service to Philadelphia, and will also begin a A350 service along a second route between New York and Doha in April.

Qatar Airways is the national carrier of the State of Qatar, and is one of the fastest growing, youngest, and most highly awarded airlines in the world. It has won Airline of the Year, Best Business Class Airline Seat and Best Airline in the Middle East at the 2015 Skytrax Award, and is the third time the airline won the Airline Of The Year accolade.

But the awards don’t stop there. Qatar Airways is also a member of the oneworld global alliance, and this alliance was named the World’s Best Airline Alliance 2015 by Skytrax for the third year running. Qatar Airways was the first Gulf carrier to join the oneworld global airline alliance, allowing its passengers to benefit from over 1,000 airports in more than 150 countries, with 14,250 daily departures.

Passengers flying on Qatar Airways flights served by its B787, A350, A380, A319 as well as select A320 and A330 aircraft can also stay in touch with their friends and family around the world by using the airline’s on-board Wi-Fi and GSM service. These enhancements, as well as the larger space in all its cabins, make longer, international flights more entertaining, educational and comfortable, thus making time fly as well.
