Destination weddings are becoming more and more popular as couples seek to make their wedding day unique and memorable. With the Caribbean and Hawaii played out, it’s time to look beyond the expected for the perfect wedding destination.

With the Himalayas as a backdrop, a wedding in Nepal couldn’t help but be the most gorgeous – and unique – wedding you’ll ever go to. While the country moves beyond the devastation of the earthquake in 2015, couples can use their wedding day to “champion Fair Trade makers, reduce waste, and work with vendors who give back to their communities.” Ethical weddings may already be on trend but take it one step further with a sustainable shoot, as well.

Get inspired by the lush landscape, spectacular views, and, of course, the castles that Ireland has to offer you for a magical and memorable wedding day. The vintage look and feel of this wedding, coupled with bohemian touches and an industrial venue come together to create a stunning destination wedding. Plus, the Irish hospitality and genial spirit mean your wedding will be a celebration for all involved.

3. Greece

The Caribbean is overdone, but a Mediterranean-inspired wedding is always chic. Ancient Greece was known for its opulence, so glamorous touches won’t be out of place in this romantic setting. Whether you marry among the ruins of the ancient world or overlooking the sea, a Grecian wedding allows you to bring your own touches to the event rather than having a pre-set list of choices from a hotel. Olive trees lend a beautiful, soft green to pictures while you allow the setting to inspire you and dress up like a Greek Goddess.

2. Morocco

If you love the Moorish architecture of southern Spain, but want someplace unique, head south to Morocco. The destination is on the rise as a wedding locale thanks to UK model Poppy Delevingne’s own wedding in Marrakesh which saw stars pouring in to celebrate. “Destination weddings in Morocco are abundant affairs, filled with opulent colors, extravagant textures, atmospheric settings, and laced with candles, wine, and fabulous food.”

Would any destination weddings list be complete without including the most romantic place on earth? This intimate orchard wedding in France blends classic wedding traditions with the distinct personality of the couple. Aiming for classy, respectful, simple, and outdoors, the couple nailed their theme: A Weekend in the Countryside. “[The] inspiration was our own home. A desolate, little and cozy house in the middle of the countryside. Every time we enter our own home, we have the feeling we are on holiday.”
