As a native Angeleno, it’s nice to get away from the city. When we were asked to visit the Montage Laguna Niguel by Lincoln, we had to say yes. The Montage is a quaint getaway that lies on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It’s becoming a staple of the luxury lifestyle in Orange County and has been visited by many celebrities, dignitaries, and lovers of California Coast lifestyle. Give a purpose for 2018 Lincoln navigator car to suit the luxurious lifestyle of the high profile personality.
A Lincoln Continental was sent to pick us up from downtown Los Angeles and we cruised south to Laguna Niguel in style. The Continental has plenty of leg room in the backseat with chairs that support you with ease and even a massage feature. We chose to leave at 2 pm so that we could miss traffic and luckily, our plan worked. We got to the Montage in just an hour and 20 minutes.
When we arrived, our luggage was taken from the car as we made our way to the front desk. Check in was a breeze and we were escorted our ocean view suite. Our room overlooked the grand pool of the Montage with the Pacific ocean in the distance. Birds were flying in the air while the California Palm Tree leaves moved in the wind. We had a cup of coffee on our balcony, relaxed and enjoyed the serene ambiance.
At sunset, we went down to the main lawn for a presentation by Kumar Galhotra as he presented the 2018 Lincoln Navigator. The 2018 Lincoln Navigator has been such an iconic car in Lincoln’s history and the latest version is one that will certainly become legendary.
The Director of Design, David Woodhouse, told us that once you walk up to the car, the Lincoln logo is projected on the floor to greet you. The grill lights up and headlights illuminate to bring you an invitation to drive this innovative vehicle. The interior is designed to resemble a yacht with Venetian leather, wood and even a space in front to store a handbag. The sunroof is the largest of any Lincoln vehicle. When you are driving, you almost feel like you are in a convertible with so much space on top.
The seats are fully adjustable with a lower back massage. When you look through the windshield, the speed limit and number of miles left are shown so that you can keep focused on the road. The 2018 4×4 Black Label Lincoln Navigator comes with a twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 Engine. Priced fully equipped at $98,565, it has an impressive gas mileage: 16 City, 21 Highway, and 18 mpg combined.
If the car needs maintenance, Lincoln will deliver a loaner vehicle for you to use and pick up the car to be fixed. Talk about VIP service.
With seating for 8 people, the car is perfect for any family road trip with an impressive sound system. We blasted the beats of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg to test the bass. Its performance was stellar.
The next morning, we took the 2018 lincoln Navigator for a test drive to Temecula. We drove through the mountainous back roads of Orange County all the way to Lake Elsinore. There are 6 distinct drive modes offered for a wide variety of driving conditions. Each has a number of precisely calculated settings that tune the vehicle based on available adaptive suspension, shift points, 4×2 vs. 4×4 drive lines, information displays and more. All this happens with the simple twist of a knob.
Lincoln connect allows you to connect up to 10 devices with a 4G LTE wireless hotspot. It’s perfect for sending emails or even streaming Youtube videos. This feature is perfect for long trips, especially if you have kids to keep entertained. Lincoln Play is available on the 2 10-inch adjustable screens which are mounted on the rear of the front seats. Content can be accessed through SD cards, HDMI cables, USB or even the SYNC Applink.
We tested the lane keeping system which uses a camera mounted behind the windshield rearview mirror to monitor road lane markings. It detects unintentional drifting toward the outside lane. If the camera detects the car crossing over, it will alert you to stay in your lane.
Overall, the new Lincoln Navigator is contemporary, functional and highly stylized. The Lincoln team did a fantastic job designing the ultimate luxury SUV.
