On Sunday December 4th, Actors and Others for Animals, one of the oldest animal welfare organizations in Los Angeles, hosted its 44th Annual Joy to the Animals Luncheon and fundraiser at Universal City Hilton and Towers. Actors and Others for Animals raise money to support spay/neuter services to prevent pet overpopulation and provides veterinary assistance to those in need. The event celebrated furry family members and those who have made a difference. Lily Tomlin presented awards to Laurie and Peter Marshall (Paul Jolly Award of Caring), Loretta Swit (Betty White Inspirational Award), and Erin and George Pennacchio (Paul Jolly Award of Caring).

The event presented a holiday boutique and a silent auction with prizes from a Playa Del Carmen vacation, signed memorabilia to souvenirs from Big Bang Theory. All proceeds from fundraising efforts provide spay, neuter and veterinary assistance for the animals that share the lives of low or fixed income pet guardians. Event sponsors included the Petco Foundation, Wells Fargo, Sherry and Skip Miller and Carolyn and John Yurtchuck. The luncheon ended with entertainment from Comedian Paula Poundstone and ventriloquist Jay Johnson.
