The anticipation of a little one on the way entails a whole lot of planning and responsibility for a couple, which can be exciting, but also stressful. That is why every couple should take a babymoon, and one embellished in luxury and pampering at that. It is the last time you will get to travel as truly just the two of you, where you can create memories to treasure and revisit later down the road. It may also be the last time to really get to enjoy treating yourselves without feeling guilty for leaving the kids behind. The babymoon is the perfect time to wind down and return to your roots as a couple, enjoying one another’s company. The Four Seasons Oahu at Ko Olina is the perfect destination to do this, as it allows the couple to dream into their future together as they soak in the stunning sunsets, ocean views and blissful environment.
Babymooning in Hawaii is ideal for many reasons. First, it is one of the few easily accessible tropical locations without the Zika virus (which can have devastating effects on pregnant women and their unborn babies). It is virtually made for relaxation, with beautiful weather and gorgeous scenery, but also offers adventure with the many (pregnant-friendly) waterfall hikes, snorkeling, boat and helicopter ride offerings, and more.
Why choose The Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina for your babymoon? We created a short, non-exhaustive list to answer just that.
4. Location and Views from Four Seasons Oahu
The hotel is located in Ko Olina, an exclusive resort area on the western coast of Oahu. It supplies privacy and perfectly mimics seclusion, but it is in fact very easy to get to other places on the island. It offers the best of both worlds — a getaway, plus a convenient base to explore other parts of Oahu if and when you want to.
The resort has unobstructed views of the ocean, and if you book an Oceanview Room, you can wake up to blue skies and waters each morning from bed.
3. Outstanding Amenities
One can begin the day with morning yoga on the ocean lawn or free paddleboarding in the lagoon. There are other group workout classes offered throughout the day, or you can get your sweat on in the fitness center that is open for 24 hours.
You can then relax throughout the day at the beach or swim in one of the multiple pools at Four Seasons Oahu. If you’re at the adult pool at 3 pm, you can enjoy complimentary cocktails and soak in the hot tub until sunset, where you will have a view of all the pinks, purples, and blues that Mother Nature has to offer.
You can also walk out the lobby to The Naupaka Spa & Wellness Centre, where you will be welcomed with a refreshing drink (such as passionfruit kombucha) and offered the most plush robes to lounge around in. There are saunas, steam rooms, and different tubs to soak in, as well as an outdoor garden where you can catch some cuddles on a swing.
Among the list of services offered is a couples’ massage, and you can specifically request a prenatal massage that will allow the mom-to-be to lay on her stomach for the first time in weeks or months. Another option is to have the massage in an outdoor treatment room. Yes, please!
Book a canoe ride, private dinner, or other experience with the concierge.
Some of the coolest and most unique offerings at Four Seasons Oahu are the creative workshops. The resort brings different local creatives to teach you everything from learning to make your own lei crown or dreamcatchers to ukulele or hula lessons.
2. Comfort and Convenience
The rooms feel like actual homes, equipped with the most comfortable beds and sheets. Housekeeping visits twice a day to keep everything feeling fresh and neat.
The hotel is also very tech-savvy, providing online check-in, different light settings for rooms, an in-room iPad to order, request, or schedule anything — valet to bring a car, restaurant reservations, you name it — as well as a mobile application and texting feature.
There are plenty of dining options so you never have to leave the resort, and room service is available 24/7. Enjoy the Daily Catch at Mina’s Fish House (by Michelin-starred Chef Michael Mina) or indulge in some truffle tagliatelle at Noe. For a full list of dining options, click here.
1. Excellent Personalized Service
What makes the experience here feel truly special and one-of-a-kind is the customized, attentive service. Upon arrival until final departure, you are always greeted by name with a genuine smile. If you let the resort know it’s your babymoon beforehand, you will likely be greeted by welcome gifts. Ours included pregnancy-focused smoothies and sweets.
As our vacation came to a close, we were provided petit fours in our room, and at breakfast the next morning, the staff presented us with a “Happy Babymoon” dessert.
These are just a few examples of the lengths to which Four Seasons Oahu will go to make your babymoon a dream experience you will always cherish.
