HOME AWAY FROM HOME AT BERNIC HOTEL IN NEW YORK CITY.

New York City is one of my favorite places to visit for work and play, but it wasn’t until I stayed at the Bernic Hotel (link) that I found my home away from home.

From our first interaction with the staff, I knew the Bernic Hotel was bound to be a special place. We arrived on a red-eye flight from Los Angeles at 5:30 AM. My husband and I imagined ourselves propped up in a coffee shop resting before our meetings, but we called Bernic Hotel to see if we could check in early. We were delighted to find out that a room was ready for us and we could rest up before our busy day.

Andres greeted us at the front desk when we arrived and we quickly made our way to the room for a power nap. Our first room was a Superior King Balcony that was beautifully appointed and instantly comfortable. We were told our room was on The London Floor, which included lovely artwork and books from the city. What mattered most that morning was the incredibly soft bed that recharged our batteries. I’m a stickler for great beds and this one was amazing.

Upon awaking, we received a welcome call from the General Manager, David, who let us know our penthouse room was ready. Now, I’ve stayed in some gorgeous places before but this was the first room I could have seen myself living in for a while. Entering the room, you’re greeted by floor-to-ceiling windows and an impressively high ceiling. The living room, dining room, and kitchen area rivaled many apartments I’ve lived in before. The kitchen includes all the tableware you’ll need and my favorite feature, a Nespresso coffee machine. It helped keep me going day and night. The living room area had a comfortable couch and chairs that were transformed into our makeshift office during our stay. The flat screen television with Apple TV was an especially nice touch.

Getting cozy in our new office space.

The bedroom features the same lovely appointments as the King Room but has another large flat screen television and walk-in closet—which we don’t have in our own home. In the bathroom, more favorite features included heated tiles and rain showers. Most rooms have balconies but the Penthouse was truly exceptional. Even on a frigid morning in December, there was nothing like taking in the view of Manhattan from your own private balcony. And I could only imagine working outside on a warm, sunny day.

The Bernic Hotel is located mid-town – the perfect location for our trip. We navigated our way around the city by car and subway, but the best part was returning to a hotel that wasn’t in the thick of the action. Our favorite part about returning to the hotel was the glass of Prosecco awaiting us upon our arrival. Ultimately, we had a 5-star service at the Bernic Hotel and an unforgettable experience. Treat yourself to a stay here the next time you are in NYC. I think you might just find another home away from home.
