New York fashion week has become a coveted invite of who’s who in the fashion and entertainment industries. With the rise of the blogger vip’s in full force it was becoming challenging for the gatekeepers to foresee which golden ticket should go to who. This year New York fashion week had a different energy around it. If you were fortunate enough to enter the snow guarded entrance doors and make it past the crowds of photographers trying to get a glimpse of what you were wearing before you entered the venue and then got past the rows of security checkpoints, you would immediately notice a peaceful calm inside.
As soon as you walked in the vibe from other attendees were mostly reserved and engrossed in their phones or computers but there was a certain air of acceptance in which people would politely nod to each other as if to say “we made it”. The venue had strategically placed a small seating area right in the center when you entered and Mercedes had a coveted spot in direct line of site of every angle of the shows. You could enjoy watching E! news tape a live segment while charging your phone, drinking gifted smart waters and if you had time to spare in between shows you could reserve an appointment to have your hair touched up by a hair specialist.
The shows were all quite unique and each one had its own pizzaz with their own fans and celebrities in the audience. Collections from: Michael Kors, Anna Sui, Badgley Mischka, Betsey Johnson, Herve Leger, Monique Lhullier, Ralph Lauren, Tadashi Shoji, Tommy Hifiger, Victoria Beckham were a few of the many designers showing this fall/winter 2014 NYFW.
I am thankful to IMG for inviting me into all of what NYFW is preened for.
