Getting older is a part of life that we just can’t escape, and we have our birthdays once a year to remind us of that. Birthdays may make us a year older, but that doesn’t mean we can’t age gracefully, or that we have to look our age.
Have you ever met someone who had a birthday, and you asked them how old they were, and when they told you their age, you were blown away? So much so, that it prompted you to ask them what they did to look as young as they do? Everyone has probably ran into someone who looks as though they’ve had a few sips from the fountain of youth.
You probably thought, why can’t you look like you’ve had a few sips from the fountain of youth? Well, you actually can. Whether you’re young, and want to maintain your youthful appearance, or you’re older, and want to enhance your look of youth, there are a few tips you can incorporate into your daily routine.
Drink Plenty of Water
If you don’t drink a lot of water now, you should get better acquainted with water real soon. The more water you drink, the more your body will be hydrated, which will in turn, moisturize your skin, keeping you looking young and fresh.
You’ve probably heard people say that what you put in your body will be reflected outside your body. A more common phrase would be “you are what you eat,” but in this case, it would be “you are what you drink.” With water being clear, having no color, it can lead to you having much clearer skin, as opposed to those who consume drinks full of color and sugar.
It’s not that if you don’t drink water, you will have terrible skin, but water does play a big role in the health of your skin, and your overall health in general. Adding water consumption to your daily routine will not only have you looking good, but it’ll also have you feeling good too.
Exercise
Exercising daily can be very difficult for some people, and the most common reason for not exercising is because they’re too busy. You either have to make dinner for the family or pick the kids up from practice; however, whatever the case may be, you should try to get at least 30 minutes of exercise in your daily routine.
If you don’t have time in the evenings after work, then maybe try getting up a little early, and have your workouts in the mornings. A lot of people misconstrue exercising with long periods of time. Now, there are indeed health enthusiasts that enjoy spending much of their time working out, but you don’t necessarily have to. If you consistently do small workouts, you will begin to notice a change not only in your body, but also in your energy levels as well, and if energy doesn’t scream youth, I don’t know what else will.
Another perk of exercising is that it benefits your skin and boosts your mood. As far as exercising and skin, the sweat you produce when exercising acts as a mini facial. When you sweat, you’re getting rid of dirt and toxins in your body, which is what gives your body that natural glow.
Exercising also puts you in a better mood. For one, you’ll get a nice confidence boost once you start to see your results from your workouts. The next reason as to why working out puts you in a better mood is because it allows your body to release chemicals to the neurons in your brain, giving you a happy feeling.
Choose the Right Makeup
We’ve all seen the girls who either wear too much makeup or they wear the wrong shade of makeup… both can age you up to ten years. So the topic here is to wear makeup that makes you look youthful.
One thing to keep in mind here is to pick a natural looking foundation. Nothing’s worse than seeing a woman wearing foundation that is two shades too dark or too light. That will give you an appearance of looking like you’re wearing a mask, and that’s the last thing you want.
Choose a foundation that blends really well with your natural skin tone, so that your face will look as though you’re not even wearing any foundation. The whole purpose of foundation, or concealer, is to conceal any imperfections, which is why it’s important to find a tone that matches your natural skin tone.
To further enhance your facial features, use an eyelash curler if your lashes don’t naturally curl upwards. The older you get, the more your lashes will thin out and become straight, taking away from your youthful appearance, so the use of mascara is also quite helpful.
Wear Clothes That Fit Your Age and Body’s Shape
One of the worst things you can see is a woman wearing clothes that are too young looking for her, or clothes that are too tight for her. Some women have it in their mind that because they feel young, that every other aspect in their lives are young too. You don’t have to walk around looking like a grandmother before your time, but you also don’t have to walk around trying to look like a twenty something either.
You you don’t have to wear revealing shirts that show cleavage to get attention. It may bring you some attention, but not the kind of attention you want. You see this happen way to often. One way to help these women combat that urge to dress outside their age is for you to create a stylebook through blogging; all you have to do to get started is pick your domain name. Once you get that, your options are limitless.
You can give fashion tutorials showcasing outfits that are age appropriate, but still give off that wow factor that your readers so desire. As you step into your closet, they can step into theirs. You can give them style tips, and post videos of how you go about the process of picking out your clothes for the day.
You’d be quite surprised at how many people need help in this area, but the cool thing about your blog is that you’ll get to interact with the people you’re helping.
