First
Aid Essentials for Any Trip

The whole point of going on a vacation is to relax and feel our best.
However, what should we use if we feel ill or uncomfortable during a trip? Here
are some first aid essentials that all travelers should pack in their overnight
bag. They will keep you in tip-top form during your trip.

1. Vitamin
C Supplements

Many people only think that their bodies need a boost of vitamin C when they
feel like they are coming down with something. The truth is,
there are many benefits an extra-large dose of vitamin C has for you. This
essential vitamin, common in many citrus fruits and leafy green vegetables, is
easily obtained by eating a nutritious diet, but a lot of people find that they
also need to use a supplement. It can help to manage your high blood pressure
and reduce your risk of heart disease while improving the performance of your
immune system. Supplements often come in powdered form, easy to mix with water,
and available in a plethora of flavors.

2. Otoscope

It may look like an unusual medical instrument, but an otoscope
can help you stay on top of the health of your ears. They feature a small light
and a magnifying glass, enabling you to see all parts of your ear closely and
in fine detail. Many otoscopes come attached to a
handle that contains a battery pack. This battery pack enables you to power the
light source and makes it easily portable to accompany you on trips.

3.
Bandages, Gauze and Antiseptic Ointment

Suffering from a cut or a scrape is a sad fact of life. Make sure you always
keep the necessary wound dressings close by and within easy reach. Invest in a
wide variety of shapes, sizes, and absorbency. This way, whether you suffer a
blister from your new walking shoes or a child falls down at the park, you can
always be prepared. Make sure to pack some small tubes or individually-wrapped
wipes of an antiseptic solution to protect from infections. While there are
many outside
dangers
to your trip, some uneven flooring or a nail sticking out can be
your biggest nightmare.

4.
Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen Tablets

Having a container of your favorite Tylenol or Advil medication will make
dealing with minor ailments much easier. From a slight headache to a small
amount of inflammation or swelling, these little pills are highly valuable.
Taking too many of them can result in the failure of a few of your major
organs. However, when taken sparingly, these tablets can give you relief and
comfort on your trip. Pack different varieties so that everyone on your trip
can use them. Bring a menstrual pain reliever like Midol if that is a concern
of yours.

5.
Antihistamine Cream or Spray

Itching from insect bites is just something we have to deal with on this
planet. If the balmy, relaxing evenings of your trip are marred by swarms of
flying creatures, be sure to pack some antihistamine. Use a cream or a spray,
whichever will give you an even coat, and relieve the itching. Bring some bug
spray
with you to act as a preventative measure. Many people choose to buy
natural bug spray or even make their own.

6.
Necessary Medications and Documentation

If there are medications that are recommended by your doctor for taking
regularly, of course, you do not want to be without them. However, depending on
where your trip takes you, the regulations may be stricter than you are used to.
Therefore, it is necessary to bring all the documents along with it. Include a
message from your doctor and a schedule for taking them. This can protect your
health from unforeseen hazards.

7. Pack It
Up in a Great Bag

Once you have all the components for the first aid kit, you can bring it
with you on your trip. You will have to find the perfect case to hold them all.
Make sure that it is eye-catching and will
stand out from your other luggage. You will also want to make sure that it is
big enough for everything that has to go inside and has enough small pockets to
keep things organized. Keep it handy and use it to make yourself more
comfortable on your trip.
