Olivetta draws from the whimsical and theatrical elegance of the western Mediterranean mixed with a healthy dose West Hollywood vibrancy and exuberance. The color green is prevalent throughout the space and creates a feeling of abundance and wealth.
INTERIOR
The white rendered, ivy covered walls of the courtyard, create an airy background for the feature fireplace and bougainvillea growing up and over the trellis roof are reminiscent of the public gardens of coastal northern Italy. The interior of the space is richer, bolder and altogether more theatrical with mohair walls, and a striking French Riviera inspired fabric ceiling throughout the two main dining spaces.
The feature that summarizes the concept most clearly is the European mural style wallpaper in the main dining room in rich golds and yellows composed of imagery of Californian fauna and even the occasional racoon which was designed specifically for the restaurant by London based artist Adam Ellis. The stylistic variety between the main spaces of the courtyard, the lounge, the bar and the dining room allow the space to evolve seamlessly throughout the day.
Starting as a fantastic, light airy weekend brunch spot Olivetta becomes a great location for early evening drinks, followed by a superb dinner from the kitchen of renowned L.A Chef Michael Fiorelli, through to a post dinner bar and finally cabaret, live music and mischievous Hollywood night spot.
