Vienna has been named “World’s Most Livable City” 8 years in a row, according to Mercer. And it’s hard not to see why. This beautiful, clean city is located on the Danube, in the center of Europe, and the capital of Austria. It makes a person guess the fashionable things to do in Vienna.

It is both old and new, with magnificent Baroque Castles with buildings featuring the latest architecture. Rich in culture and art, the city is treasured around the world for its concert halls, exceptional music, and museums filled with world-class art.

This wonderful city is very walkable, with each district having its own unique ambiance, making for an unforgettable travel experience. One can easily stroll upon one of many restaurants, which would satisfy any discerning palate.

5. Watch a Mozart Concert at The Musikverein

The Musikverein, renowned worldwide as one of the world’s finest concert halls, is an architectural beauty with vaulted ceilings, decorated archways, and opulent chandeliers.  The concert is performed by musicians dressed in period costumes with wigs and coats, taking you back in time to the grandeur of the 18 century and Mozart’s Era.  The exceptional classical music combined with the grandeur of the concert hall, make for a cultured, magical night.

4. Take a stroll through St. Stephen’s Cathedral

St. Stephen’s Cathedral holds a wealth of art treasures. It is home to relics decorated with gold and precious stone, valuable altars and side chapels.

Royal and notable weddings have taken place here, including Louis II of Hungary and Mary of Austria as well as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Constanze Weber.

The intricately designed roof has a total of 230,000 glazed, multi-colored tiles, while its dominating feature is the Südturm (south tower). Standing at 450 feet (136.7m) high, it was completed in 1433 after 75 years.

This magnificent dark gothic church is considered to be one of the most important cathedrals in Austria.

3. Fashionable things to Spend an afternoon at the MuseumsQuartier Wien

The MuseumsQuartier Wien is diverse and, with about 70 cultural facilities, it is one of the largest art and culture complexes in the world.  Well, known museums are joined with classics of modernism, theater, design, fashion and street art.  The historic buildings from the 18th and 19th century and contemporary museums create a unique architectural blend and atmosphere.  

The two main museums are the Leopold Museum, containing the largest collection of modern Austrian art, and The Museum of Modern Art, which boasts a collection of 9,000 contemporary and modern pieces.

Be sure to stop by the inner courtyard of the MuseumsQuartier, which offers cozy gardens, music playing and stylish furniture to relax on.  Here, you will find the outdoor food court, with snack bars, cafes, and sophisticated cuisine.  It is a great place to grab a bite and discuss your art experience fashionable things to do.

2. Visit the stunning Belvedere Castle

Prince Eugene of Savoy built Belvedere Castle as his summer home.  This place features Austrian art from the Middle Ages, a group of masterpieces by Renoir, Monet, and van Gogh, as well as the world’s largest Klimt collection with gems such as “The Kiss” and “Judith.”

This architectural masterpiece consists of two palaces — Upper and Lower Belvedere. The Lower was the actual residence of Prince Eugene while the Upper was all about representation.

The Belvedere’s Garden, which links the two palaces, is one of Europe’s most significant gardens in French History and an excellent example of Baroque design.

The property has been listed a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

1. Have lunch at Gerstner

Gerstner is one of the most prestigious staples in Austria’s gourmet and hospitality industry. You will be pampered while dining on the best Viennese tradition.  The dazzling ambiance includes gold trim paneling, historic ceiling paintings, grand fireplaces, and an incredible view of the Vienna State Opera House.
