On Saturday, September 19th, the red carpet was busting at the seams at the Television Academy’s annual Performers Nominee Reception at Pacific Design Center’s Spectra by Wolfgang Puck. Christina Hendricks, Mayim Bialik, Seth Green, and a number of others nominated attended the perennial favorite event on the night before the big night, which was sponsored by both L’Oreal and Audi.

Amy Landecker, from the critically acclaimed Amazon show, “Transparent,” was extremely grateful, not to mention still somewhat shocked. “I’m so proud to be a part of this show and this team,” mused the actress. “It’s such a gift. And we have such an important message to get out there about the transgender community; it’s more than a job, it’s a responsibility.”
Actor Anthony Anderson arrived with a gaggle of girls. I asked “Are these your daughters?” He giggled, “Yes, my TV ones.” The little girls were the belles of the ball, making their way from one table to the next, but minding their manners – after all, their TV daddy was watching nearby.

Saturday was a marathon of bashes; during the day it was ICM and BAFTA, then tonight (after this one of course) The Evening Before The Emmys benefiting MPTF, as well as a Showtime event and a party thrown by NBC. Suffice to say, it’s not just a job for these actors, it’s an adventure when it comes to award season – and comfy shoes – while necessary – don’t always work on the red carpet.
