The most influential executives in the hotel industry came together for America’s Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS) at the JW Marriott in Los Angeles to honor the companies responsible for the most influential hotel industry deals of 2015. Nominees were considered based on business performance in a variety of industry sectors and determined by ALIS sponsors.

The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) has been serving the hospitality industry for over a century and represents all segments of the 1.8 million employee US lodging industry–hotel owners, chains, franchisees and industry suppliers. AH&LA provides educational resources, communications support and focused advocacy for this $155.5 billion industry (annual sales) from 4.9 million guestrooms.

Aloft South Beach, Miami Beach, FL

The 235-room Aloft South Beach was developed by JMH Development and Madden Real Estate Ventures and is managed by Highgate.

Waldorf Astoria New York – New York, NY

Anbang Insurance Group Co. Ltd. acquired the Waldorf Astoria New York from Hilton Worldwide and Blackstone for US$1.95 billion.

Merger & Acquisition of the Year 2015:
InterContinental Hotels Group PLC / Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants Group LLC

InterContinental Hotels Group PLC acquired Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants Group LLC for US$430 million.
