Last week, Rolls Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös and Director of Design, Giles Taylor presented an exclusive unveiling of an extraordinary Vision, the 103EX, one of the very few to be released by the car company in their 113-year history.
“Take the best that exists and make it better. When it does not exist, design it.”
-Sir Henry Royce
Clients and VIP guests of Rolls Royce gathered at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica and were escorted into a cylindrical space where they experienced a 360-degree vision of a timeless journey filled with fluid curves, warmth, romance and opulence.
Mr. Müller-Ötvös fueled the creative fire of the engineer and design team, while keeping in mind the demands of luxury consumers of the future, saying, “Be bold, be a novelist and even be controversial. In short, be like Sir Henry.”
As she stages your entrance with a personal red carpet glow, this Vision vehicle embodies just one of the endless possibilities that awaits us in the world of effortless autonomous travel.
“You are the stars and we want to make you feel like kings and queens,” says Giles Taylor as he guided guests through an exceptional, inspiring and visionary leap to the future.
A tranquil sanctuary occupies your senses as the entire roof canopy opens up to an inner sanctum of bespoke, rare materials, accompanied by a skylight of panoramic observations. This self-aware, autonomous vehicle has given artificial intelligence a name, soul and a purpose. A muse for the spirit of ecstasy, Eleanor Thornton’s vital spark drives, guides, and will ultimately discover the world with you as she becomes your companion.
A true work of art – the 103EX is a bold and definitive statement vehicle that inspired and gifted all who attended the opportunity to experience a piece of the future.
