With these thirteen celebrity homes you are sure to find one that suits your fancy. Maybe you’ll even learn something intimate about your favorite star that will stick with you for the rest of your life.

13. DENZEL WASHINGTON/JIMMY PAGE: MALIBU, CA.

This estate, which can be viewed here, is infamous for its parties in the 60’s and 70’s. This property has floor-to-ceiling windows that fill the entire house with natural light. It takes up a whopping eight acres in the bluffs that overlook the beaches of Broad and Zuma. Enjoy the view that Denzel Washington and Jimmy Page have of dolphins and whales from their beautiful homestead. It’s $490 per night with a 2-night minimum stay.

12. JIM MORRISON: WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA.

 

Jim Morrison lived in this two-bedroom, that can be viewed here, just a short walk from Sunset Strip. He used the space for giving interviews, jamming on the guitar, and writing poetry. This dope pad is decked out with Doors’ memorabilia, vintage furniture, hanging beads, a trippy floral shower curtain, and colorful paint. It’s $3,180 with a 30-night minimum stay.

11. BODE MILLER – CARROL, NH.

 

Bode Miller, known for being an Olympic skier and his wife, Morgan Beck, a pro beach volleyball player, are the owners of this estate.The property is for rent here.  It is located within New Hampshire’s ski-resort territory. It has amazing views of Mount Washington and is designed with stone fireplaces, deep-soaking tubs, hand-carved wood furnishings, leather sofas, and four bedrooms. It’s $800 per night with a 2-night minimum stay.

10. PAULA DEEN – TYBEE ISLAND, GA.

The appropriately named Y’all Come Inn, that you can see here,  is owned by the one and only Paula Deen. It has of course an amazing kitchen, stocked with all of Paula’s cookbooks. She even signs one cookbook for every guest that stays at this abode. There are three bedrooms and a front porch with a picnic table. Located on Tybee Island, this home is only four blocks from the beach. It’s $295 per night with a 2-night minimum stay.

9. BING CROSBY – PALM SPRINGS, CA.

 

Bing Crosby’s home, viewable here, is a true experience of the celebrity side of Palm Springs. His abode is a 1934 hacienda and stays true to its Spanish style with original tiled floors, vaulted ceilings, and a wood-burning fireplace. There is also a screening room complete with a projector, a modernized kitchen, and a heated pool. It’s $675 per night with a 3-night minimum.

8. WILLEM DAFOE – HUDSON VALLEY, NY.

 

Willem Dafoe’s Rubber House is an architectural masterpiece, you can see here, constructed in 1981. This property contains a vaulted glass chef’s kitchen and a glass-atrium walkway. Dafoe was looking for a home that was much different than the Rubber House but it seduced him with its extravagant architecture and he eventually bought it. This estate is near the hiking trails of Mohonk Preserve and is 100 miles north of New York City. It’s $500 per night with a 3-night minimum.

7. HOWARD HUGHES – PALM SPRINGS, CA.

 

The famous aviator’s home in Palm Springs is another great celebrity home on the market. A three-level house, it has three bedrooms and still contains its original fixtures, windows from the floor to the ceiling, a pool, and cabana. A quirky property, some of the lights are turned on from panels that are mounted in the floor. One of the best features however is a deck that gives vacationers a 220-degree view of Palm Canyon Arroyo and Palm Springs. It’s $400 per night. 

6. ORSON WELLES – HOLLYWOOD, CA.

 

A four-bedroom home from the early 1930’s, this 3,000 square foot estate can hold up to 10 guests. You can see the home here. It includes a lagoon-style pool and dry sauna in its 15,000 square foot private yard. The home’s game room has one of the first movie posters of Citizen Kane, which was written in the estate. The current owner has also mounted a Rosebud sled from the opening scene of Citizen Kane on the wall of the game room. It’s $895 per night with a 5-night minimum.

5. DAN LARSON – PASO ROBLES, CA.

Dan Larson, a form Houston Astros pitcher retired to the town of Paso Robles with his wife in 1980. The area is filled with vineyards and wine estates along the coast of California. This two-bedroom, viewable here,  has a fenced off backyard complete with a barbecue area and a central area for congregating. You can walk to downtown from this home to enjoy anything from restaurants and antique stores to art studios, the cinema, the city park, or wine-tasting rooms. It’s $190 per night.

4. HARRY HOUDINI – LOS ANGELES, CA.

 

The master of escape and illusion used to practice his talents at this mansion, you can see here,  right before his premature death. His wife stayed here and performed séances to communicate with him until the home burned down in 1959. It was restored with attention to detail and is now a popular rental property in the Hollywood Hills for large parties. It has three bedrooms, an outdoor pool, and memorabilia from Houdini himself. It is $1,000 per night.

3. ARMISTEAD MAUPIN – SANTA FE, NM.

 

Best known for his “Tales of the City” series, Armistead Maupin purchased this estate, for rent here, in 2012. It’s a 15-acre mountain retreat that is situated near two arroyos, with cliffs behind the home. The property contains four bedrooms, an infinity pool, guest casita and is located between the Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado and the Santa Fe Opera. It is $525 per night with a 3-night minimum.

2. VIVIAN VANCE – LOS ANGELES, CA.

The sidekick from I Love Lucy, Vivian Vance, resided in this estate, viewable here, in Hancock Park. It has also been home to actress Katherine MacDonald and oil magnate G. Allan Hancock. Now it’s owned by David Cooley. This 4,000 square foot brick house has marble baths, original artwork, a theater room, fireplace, and extravagant kitchen that opens onto a large lawn with lounge chairs, a pool with cascading water, and a hot tub. The property holds three bedrooms and a guest house. It is $2,195 per night.

1. JOSEPH COTTEN – PALM SPRINGS, CA.

 

The late actor Joseph Cotten as well as Sonny and Cher, Natalie Wood, Kirk Douglas, and Johnny Mercer used this estate, for rent here, as a retreat from the insanity of Hollywood. Some of Cotten’s old mail is still in the home for viewing. This home has an entranced with a wall around a courtyard with a fountain, five guest casitas that enclose a pool. The property also includes an outdoor spa sanctuary, a Jacuzzi, and an outdoor shower. It is $599 per night.
