INSIDE THE DESTINATION LUXURY VAMPIRE SURREALIST BALL. - Destination Luxury

On Saturday, October 25th, as twilight fell on the Sofitel Hotel, the final preparations for the glamourous event known as The Vampire Surrealist Ball. A plethora of red carpet ready vampires and elaborate costumes waltzed across the step and repeat, with each costume outshining the next.

The Destination Luxury team celebrated their birthdays en masse, with a glamorously haunting evening filled with decadence, excitement and mystery. VThe party was inspired by two decadent soirees, the 1972 Rothschild Surrealist Ball & the 2011 former Vogue Paris Carine Roitfeld’s Vampire Ball.

David Christopher Lee was dressed as Dracula in a black cape, a vampire style suit vest and black wings. Setorii Pond appeared as Queen of the Vampires, with blood red makeup on the top half of her face, the bottom part was painted pale white with diamond dust feathering her body. Pond was dressed custom designed white corset with a fantastic black cape and handmade headpiece adorned with the requisite vampire bat. Chirag Sagar was in attendance as a golden Indian sultan, wearing sparkling attire and a 14 carat gold hand painted face.

Lee, known for his cinematic prowess, created a short film entitled “The Virgin,” encapsulating the night. Dressed in an ethereal white chiffon gown, the lead wanders through a magical land and eventually opens the door to a haunting masquerade – The Vampire Surrealist Ball. “The Virgin” features designs by Langhem, Badgley Mischka and Lanvin.

The Gothic theme of the ball was matched with songs from the 80’s, industrial tunes infused with New Wave, and popular songs from today. The birthday cake was created by Estérel, the newly acclaimed French-Californian restaurant inside the Sofitel.

The ball gave attendees in the fashion, music, movie and tech industries the opportunity to be glorified for stepping out in their favorite and most unique creations with trendsetting bold and yet glamorous makeup statements. It was a night to remember that people are still talking about. See some of our favorite #DestinationLuxury photo moments and most striking looks inside the vampire ball below.

Sponsors included the Southern California Cadillac Concierge as title sponsor of the event, showcasing their  Cadillac ATS & Escalade, and treated attendees to private chauffeured experiences. SurfAir presented their all-you-can fly services.
