Puerto Vallarta is a resort town on the coast of Mexico known for its white sandy beaches, water sports and once in a lifetime nightlife. With it’s historic town and cobblestone streets, it has been a luxury destination for good reason. We were invited to visit three astonishing all inclusive luxury resorts in Puerto Vallarta, each with its own unique character.

CASA VELAS

With a direct three hour flight from Los Angeles, the flight passed by so fast. Almost instantly, we had been transported to a lush tropical paradise. After arriving to the Puerto Vallarta airport, we were whisked through customs, security and to VIP services to get to our first destination, Casa Velas, a stunning boutique all-inclusive luxury resort.

The Casa Velas Pool is tranquil, relaxing and the perfect place for holiday. It is one of the best luxury resort in Puerto Vallarta.

Located 5 minutes from the airport, this adults-only resort is nestled on the greens of Marina Vallarta’s 18-hole golf course. As you arrive, you will go through 2 tall wrought iron gates and notice a stunning garden filled with bougainvillea, greenery, a water fountain and even peacocks. When we exited the shuttle, a peacock was there to greet us with the most beautiful iridescent feathers. He made a very grand entrance.

We settled into our room which was very comfortable and spacious. It had a magnificent view of the entryway gardens on both sides. We were lucky to have a corner room. The bell hop told us that everything was included in the room and to enjoy the drinks and snacks in the minibar. It had appeared that we had arrived in paradise.

After settling into the room, we went downstairs by the pool for a magnificent tequila tasting. With a view of gargantuan palm trees, water and greenery, approximate 25 tequila bottles sat on top of tequila barrels. We started with a blanco tequila which is clear and has harsher flavor than the rest.

Reposado is the first stage of rested and aged and produces a golden hue with a fresh balance of Agave and wood flavors. Anejo is aged the longest and produces a darker amber color with smoother, richer complexity. After tasting 10 tequilas, our favorite of the tasting was the Don Julio 1800 Reposado.

CASA VELAS OCEAN CLUB

Surrounded by a lush tropical ambiance, the Ocean Club has a view of an infinity pool that sits on the beach. We were treated to decadent 5 course meal with prime rib, onion soup, and dragon ball stuffed crab while we enjoyed a relaxing colorful sunset.

THE GRAND VELAS RIVIERA NAYARIT

The Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit offers guests a relaxation massage when you arrive. As you sit on plush couches, you close your eyes and hear the sounds of waves and wind. The energy is absolutely perfect and you are transported to another world.

This AAA Five Diamond all-inclusive luxury resort features 267 ocean-view suites, private plunge pools and L’Occitane amenities and Nespresso machines. We had cocktails in the Imperial suite which featured one of the best sunset views that we had ever seen in Puerto Vallarta.

One of the most impressive parts of the resort was the Teen Club. This high tech lounge designed specifically for teens has the word FUN written all over it. With an assortment of games, video games, billiards, air hockey, foosball and a disco dance floor, there are so many things to do here, you will never want to leave (even if you are not a teen).

GOLF AT VISTA VALLARTA

The Tom Weiskopf Course features a 72 par layout and is 6976 yards. We played the course in the afternoon and enjoyed perfect 80 degree weather, low humidity and the lush greenery that surrounded us. It almost felt like we were in Jurassic Park with the massive palm trees and bodies of water.
