AMERICAN AIRLINES LAUNCHES NEW ROUTE FROM LAX TO NEW ZEALAND.

American Airlines (link) hosted a screening to celebrate its new direct route between Los Angeles and Auckland, New Zealand. Held at the ultra-luxurious iPic Theatre, this invite only event allowed guest to taste wine and cuisine on the new flight. The new route nearly doubles the airlines presence in the region.

According to Doug Parker, American Airlines CEO, Auckland is a thriving destination for business and leisure travelers and that there is a strong demand for travelers in the Los Angeles region.

American’s new non-stop route is supported by Jetstar’s domestic connections to eleven New Zealand destinations. Qantas Group has nearly 40 daily flights to Australia.

The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner is the newest addition to the American Airlines fleet. With international Wi-Fi, higher humidity and pressurization to sea level conditions, customers will be refreshed on the flight. Each seat has its own touchscreen monitor with up to 260 movies, 240 TV shows, 13 radio channels, 350 albums and 20 games. Universal AC power outlets and USB connections are on every seat while 28 fully lie-flat seats are in Business Class. 55 Main Cabin Extra seats with extra legroom accompany the 143 Main Cabin Seats.

 

The next day, American Airlines hosted a special event at LAX at Gate 41 at Terminal 4 right before the first flight took off to New Zealand.
