A conglomerate of islands found in the southern parts of the Aegean Sea, the complex is still an active volcano, but this fact has been overshadowed by the brilliance of the blue roofs, the natural beauty and the more than century-old history the region has to offer. Almost everyone who travels to Greece never fails to make it to this beautiful island, and this is for very good reason.

8. Watching a Movie at an Open-Air Cinema

With the perfect Santorini weather, nothing beats spending time in the evening than watching a movie at an open-air cinema. This is one of the activities that take place in Kamari village. Here there are lots of open-air cinemas, both locals and visitors gather to enjoy shows under the start lights, as they take cold sips of tasty cocktails, and of course, with lots of popcorn.

7. Visit the Unique Red Beach

Santorini is known to have lots of beautiful beaches, but one you must never miss to visit is the legendary Red Beach. The beach littered with lots of beautiful red and black volcanic pebbles and it is one of the places where you can watch the perfect sunrise and the sunsets in the entire island. The rays of the sun striking against the colored beach create a magnificent piece of art that no painter alive can ever produce. It is simply magical to sit on the stones and watch as the ocean wave strike the shores, with the sun setting on the far horizon.

The Santorini Winery is not just one of the best places on the planet to catch the stunning Santorini sunset, but also the perfect location with the perfect teachers to give you the perfect Greek wine crash course by doing the 18-wines tasting flight. With this, you get a total of 18 different kinds of wines served with cheese and you do the tasting while enjoying the spectacular island’s view. The 18-Wine Flight tasting will present you with the chance to sample everything, from the dry Assyrtiko to Aromatic Rose to rich Crescendo and much more. This alone is enough to make you go for passport renewal services so that you have your passport ready for a trip to Greece.

5. Enjoy a Meal at a Classic Taverna

A visit to Santorini or any other city in Greece will never be complete without sampling the local cuisines and delicacies. Greek is along the shores of the Mediterranean, a region known to have very healthy eating habits, and as such, they are known to live relatively longer than the people in other parts of the world. A visit to Santorini is a perfect chance to try out foods and learn how different they are with the foods from other places.

To have the perfect Greece dining experience, all you need is to go to a classic taverna, which is simply a small restaurant serving authentic Greek foods. You will be amazed by their methods of food preparation, and if you are lucky enough to visit a farm restaurant, you will be delighted to learn that everything you ate was actually sourced locally from that farm. Very fresh and highly enriching diet.

4. Try the Fira-Oia Hike

If you love outdoors, then you can try the 9km hike from Fira to Oia. The hike will basically move you from one town to another, and the greatest thing about it is that you will have the most scenic views of Santorini along the trail. The hike normally takes about three hours, but this will depend on how many stops you want to make along the way. The path will meander with you along the picturesque caldera, where even if you are never a fan of photography, you will enjoy taking some great shots of the magnificent landscape below. For this hike, however, you must prepare for it just like any other hike, since the trail is pretty rugged, and you may want to go through it with your best-hiking boots.

3. How about a Fish pedicure?

While taking a lousy walk along the streets of Fira, be sure to stop at one of the shops for a relaxing fish therapy treatment for your feet and hands at Fish Spa Kagai Wellness Center. All you have to do is simply stick your toes inside the tank, and in just a matter of seconds, the tiny Garra Rufia fish will start sucking away the dead skin in a gentle and soothing manner, such that when they are done, you will be left with a silky smooth skin. If you suffer from skin conditions such as eczema, this will be more than a relaxation treat, but also a treatment.

2. Romantic Dinners Overlooking the Caldera

If you are traveling to Santorini with your better half or someone in a similar position, then it is one of the best places on earth with very cool spots for romantic dinners. A simple, yet thrilling one would be in one of the many restaurants overlooking the beautiful caldera right in the middle of the deep blue sea. If you are able to catch the sunset, then later have some candles on your table, it will be a dinner that will be permanently etched in your memories.

1. Drink the Famous Donkey Beer

In most of the restaurants and cafes, you will come across bottles of locally brewed donkey beer. It is a product of Santorini Brewing Company and one of the signature products of the islands. The names sound funny, but that’s all there is to it. It doesn’t mean the manufacture features any donkey products or the involvement of donkeys in the brewing process. You will have to choose between the yellow, red or crazy donkey beers.
